Hi guys I am looking to buy a MK5 gti fsi in a few days. To be honest hardly know anything about golf's but always wanted 1!

Its a 2005 05 plate with 99k miles. It does have full service history and 2 years private warrenty included in the deal!

I have to say I am a little worried about the mileage, but the guy says as its a VAG engine it will just run and run is this true?

Also what else do I need to be looking out for with the car with such high miles?

What sort of price should I be looking to pay for it?

Cheers guys much appreciated!

Whats your budget? Are you after a cheap car or are you after a MKV GTI?

Your probably looking at no more than 8-9k for an 05 with that kind of mileage! how many previous owners?

Its had 3 previous owners. The price is about right then. Even though mileage at 99k will it give me plenty more hassle free miles?

I wouldnt not be in the least bit worried about the miles, if its as fully loaded as he says it is, then I reckon you can get that for 8200 (including bargaining margin :) )

As a benchmark I just sold mine for 10,400 - fully loaded example (with 17" monzas) 55 plate with 70k miles, and I reckon I could have got more to be honest! As long as its had the cambelt the major expense is out of the way, so you have very little to worry about.... i'd go for it :D

All I need to know though is that the miles are nothing to worry about and that it will keep running and running, especially with 22 months warrenty on it right???

I am actually doing a swap for my 2006 renaultsport clio 197 with 44k miles

From those Photo's, im sure those Alloys are Replica's.For those that know, close look at the face and circular sections.

They dont look quite right to me. :undecided:

Replica monza II's may show signs of early deteriation.

Lots of GTi's out there with less miles and as good a spec.
