I have finally got the new seats for my car, after they started to rip, about 6 or 7 years ago..... I've had seat covers on the existing ones for about five years.... The bolster on the drivers seat is knackered. I've been looking for seats for a while now, and all our breakers are sh1t, just when i thought i found some, they turned out to be for a five door, or something... Then i found some really good ones from a polo, but they didn't fit?

. Its the reason i joined the forum, to see if any seats were available... Eventually i noted that some corrado seats were available, for ?85. So i went to meet the owner LowVento.....
I took out the passenger seat to have more room, and set out on the 75 mile journey across Wales... Met up with him, very nice bloke, and popped the passenger seat in, he had to hurry off, so i put the drivers seat in the back ready to put the new one in, faffed around dor five mins, then noticed that the very front of the runner was bent right round... I couldn't bend it there, so i had to drive home?
Took it to a garage in Aber, and the guy bent the front back for me. I went home, and still couldn't get the seat in, so i went back down... We spent about an hour battling to get the seat in, to no luck

LowVento had been informed by this point, and was waiting for a reply. The seats in current condition were utterly useless

He got back to me, and agreed to give me ?35 back for the damaged seat.?
I took it to a metal worker back home, and we again spent an hour with it, eventually noticing where the problem lay, the whole subframe was bent

Eventually he bent it just enough to get it in a little bit, and he was attacking it with a wrecking bar

much to my horror!! Anyway, eventually, it went in. Just. Now though the seat moves, but doesn't click in in any position except at the back, which is lucky as am not short!!
So after a lot of hassle, the seats are in, but the drivers doesn't move, and is at a funny angle to the other seat

The ?35 came back from Dav (lowvento), and i payed the man back home ?10 for his time (the man in Wales didn't charge me for his time, which was nice).
What a hassle!! And a very long wait. Anyway, here they are, old and new. And the gu i bought off is very cool, and says if you need wheels to contact him!
