Golf GTD
« on: 07 March 2010, 12:07 »
 I am thinking of parting with my Sept 09 GTD 5 door, colour steel grey, 3600 miles, 18 inch Vancouver alloys,
is there a strong market for this type of car and what price am I likely to achieve selling it privately???
I note Autotrader appears to have some fairly high second hand prices.
many thanks in anticipation of a reply.

Pray, why are you selling?
Are you upgrading to a GTi or R?
I am sure your car will command a high price.

Even worse, I have only done 6600 miles in 2 years in my Type R GT.
But I still need a car as I use it every day! By the mileage it does not seem like it, I know!
It is a tough decision.
All the best.

Yah, whassamatter with you? Mine stays in the garage 6.5 days out of 7. Probably covered less than 2000 miles since September!!!
It gets worse, I've changed the wheels on it twice, thinking about yet another set, re-mapped it and put in a sat nav. Yep, a sat nav to sit in the garage!!!
Sell it 'cos I'm not using it? Not a chance, roll on the summer.

Back to the OP, on the vw website used car locator they have an oct 09 GTD with a lot of extras 2750mls, leather, park assist, vancs, RCD510, xenons £28000! I know this isn't the same spec but it's well worth having a look at what's avaliable and trying to get near that cos usually dealers overprice anyway. Good luck!
PS thats listers in Solihull.

I'd hope you get a reasonable price for this.

Other's though have falggade there are a lot more GTi/D's coming on-stream now so that may take a bit off what you're hoping to achieve.

[I was getting a bit of a complex as i do very few miles too - Brera's done <10K in 2 years and my Harley's done just on 5K in .... 20years! - glad to know i'm not alone ...]

If it's any comfort to you, my GTI is 8 months old and has only done 4000 miles. I like keeping it for special occasions.
