Couple of questions from a VW newbie.
« on: 07 March 2010, 08:07 »
Hi

I've just got my first Golf, a 1999 Gti 1.8t and I have a couple of questions regarding how to's and opinions please.

1. Rear wiper change.

I have a MK5 wiper set for the rear but am strugling to get the old one off, is there a special way to do this as I would rather not break my rear screen.

2. Cigarette lighter. Problem sorted

Mine is knackered so I have a new one but would like to know if you can remove the old one without taking the centre console apart.

3. German look number plates.

Recommendations for suppliers please.

4. Tyres.

I'm looking at replacing all 5 and for the 4 that will be on the car permanently I'm torn between Toyo Proxes T1R's and Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's in 205-55-16 size, both can be got for around £57 but I would appreciate peoples opinions on them or any other's that you have had a good experience with.

Many thanks.

:)

£80 each that was a while ago and with discount tho.

My new goodyear excellence cost me £100 each fitted - as there are no GSD'3 or goodyear asymmetric available ATM.
