Been offered a set of lowering sprrings which lower 50mm, im sure ive heard that if you lower the mk4 golf moer than 40mm then the driveshaft and front arb rubs, is this true or will i be ok with 50mm drop??

Ive read this too mate. And if youve only been offered springs, i would say thats too low a drop on standard dampers anyway, so you would need to fork out for a new set of dampers.
If your gonna do that, then may as well get a matched set i reckon.
