what should i use to apply this type of stuff and do you buff it out out?

i have currently have no equipment, new to the detailing world lol.

would a rag work with this?

microfibre applicator pad or a megs yellow sponge applicator, and a microfibre cloth to remove, "rags" will damage your paint.

yes dude, polish/polishing doesnt provide any protection to the paints surface, wax should always be applied after the polishing process. :wink:
