Another silly question about wheels...
« on: 04 March 2010, 00:15 »
15x7 Rota RB's...

What size tyres do I need?

I want them to look low profile but not ridiculous - as if they'd been painted on.

Thanks!

195/50/15 is the best bet to keep the gearing / speedo corect.

Cool - the only thing I need to find out now is what speed rating I need!

Any ideas?

Most tyres tend to be V rated which will be fine.

Thank you Wayne - you are a fountain of knowledge.

On a completely unrelated (but sort of related) note, have you ever heard of V-MAXX coilovers?

They are advertised on a popular online auction site if you search for 'golf estate coilovers'...

Yes to be honest about the same quality as other cheaper coilovers.

I've not heard of them. To be fair I'd keep away from golf estate coilies as the estate is heavier and the coilies will most likely be harder to cope with the weight. If you ant cheap coilovers get some raceland/hottuning/jamex brand, they are all the same and retail for anything between £160- £240ish brand new.

I believe he actually has an estate. The rear coilovers are different to hatchback ones anyway (the estate ones are upside down, with the spring at the bottom)
