S4? Yummy. That's what I'm aiming at next...  a DSG 3.0 V6 Avant.

It's a practical family car, just don't tell the wife about the consumption...  :lipsrsealed:

Nice to see you back in the fold, enjoy the car!

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

You will love the improvement in MPG.

I would also love an S4 at some point in time as 2nd hand ones aren't insanely expensive either. Its just the MPG I couldn't deal with.

Which version of the S4 did you have? I ran a B5 for 4 years - my av was 22MPG - the av on my ed 30 is 28MPG, so slightly better.

I was thinking if it's that age it's a 2.7? That a B5?

I'd love the v8, but the group 20 and 22mpg (aye, right) is crazy...

I'm waiting for the most recent s4 :afro:

hi guys thanks for the welcome. yeah a b5 your all right to mention fuel consumption keep it around the ton 22mpg anything more 15 to 18 and on really cold mornings under fuel enrichment 9 or 10 for a few miles this is the main reason for the change. but its like losing a limb as i bought it new in 98  first one in wales had to wait 10 months. its been totally reliable never failed an mot never broken down. but if you can afford to run one its a great car but im looking forward to later and my new gti. With a few choice mods on the GTI you can make it into a serious weapon aswell.

Enjoy.

well got my mk5 gti today really well prepared by non franchised dealer would recommend to anyone lovely car, treated really well better than dealer from whom i have bought 5 cars in the past. done about 100 miles so far very impressed obviously miss the torque of s4 but fuel consumption more than makes up for that. i have looked into blue fin am awaiting brochure if anyone who has it reads this please give me any feed back. Do a search (use the advance bit to specify the MK5 section) for Bluefin, plenty of feedback on here already.
