I know I should prob just ask at the dealers, but they're pretty useless at my local one and I don't know what to call these bits anyway, so any help greatly appriciated  :smiley:

Firstly, need some of the clips that go on the brake flexi lines to hold them tight in the holes where connected to the hard lines.

Second, need the two pieces that hold the front anti-roll bar to the subframe (not the links that attach it to the wishbones - got new ones of those) as mine were sooo rusted had to cut them off. They're the ones that hook through a hole in the subframe and have a captive nut on them to bolt to the subframe.

Cheers

Hi... the clips you refer to are still obtainable. I got a set (they were sold singly) from an Ebay seller who advertised complete flexible brake hose set for a Golf Mk2. . Do an Ebay search on the words in bold. They sent me what I wanted without having to buy the hoses as well.

As a non standard fix, a suitable sized universal hose clip tightened up around the union of the flexi to steel pipe (at the bracket itself) is sufficient for MOT purposes.... so I was told before I got the proper clips.

Can't help you much with the rest of your question.

M.

Have a look on www.vagcat.com

You have to register but you can then get the part numbers of whatever bits you're looking for. Quote the part numbers directly to the Stealer and they'll soon be able to tell you if they're obsolete or not.

EDIT; John you beat me to it  :laugh: Thanks!! Also, do you know which is the right part no for the brake hose clip?

Maltman, I've tried a search on ebay but nothing useful coming up, thanks anyway.

Lap; Thanks for the link, have registered and think I have found the brake hose clips, but there are 2 part no's one of which is in brackets but can't see a bracketed number in the diagram ... just wondering if this is notation for something?

For anyone interested, the hose clips are number 1 in the diagram with the corresponding part no's;

1 - retaining spring - 4D0611715B
(1) - retaining clip - 191611715

The anti-roll bar clip is;

16 - pipe clip inner - 191411334

Going to dealer this aft so will update whether they are available

Cheers

Brake hose clips/flexi pipes - for Simeon

Found the link (sbove) I was referring to.... for the record. They also supply the spring clips shown in the pic with or without the flexi-hoses.

They (tierod) are a useful source of reasonably priced service type bits.
