Had no response to my £8000 offer for a mint 3 door Mk2 GTI 16v - apart from questions over my sanity

So trying to find a base for a restortion but HAS TO BE OAK GREEN. NO OTHER COLOUR PLEASE

Anybody know of any good companies that could take a base 16v and take it back to its former glory?

If so please let me know

Think he wanted oak green and low miles (although for a 20 year old car 90k is still relatively low).

If you have an £8000 budget, & intend to do a restoration, the colour is surely irrelevant?  Decent paintjob = £2k.  This leaves £6k for a car + bits surely....?

My post was crap and as I couldn't delete it, I wrote something more irrelevant instead.

theres plenty of companies out there, both large and small. Your budget is sufficient to do pretty much what you want.

As I remember you wanting a car full of history.
I would say get a J plate 16v oak green that is solid but not too mint.

Acid dip the shell and rebuild it. I think you could could do that all under £8k if you do most of the work yourself. Leave the paint to a pro though.

I dare you

Nice idea about doing the work myself

I can wash and polish cars + fill it up at the petrol station , but beyond that ........
