Vw bluetooth car kit with 2.5" screen

Hi folks am awaiting new gti has anyone had the new vw Bluetooth car kit fitted , it's the one with the 2.5" screen that sits to the rhs of the air vent Your comments would be appreciated

We fit them all the time at Cheltenham VW great piece of kit worth every penny we use them in the demo's we have so easy to use voice recognition is great.

How do they fasten onto the dash?
Is there a pre-existing mounting point?
The pics don't make it clear.

I like the idea as they seem to work with more phones than the Factory Fit phone option does (Blackberry especially) but just wondered how they fasten to the dash, before comitting.

thanks for the info , do they work with the iphone 3gs as some information sites have reported that they cant connect to the iphone

Will work fine with any phone I have an Iphone and managed to pair mine up with our gti no problem have not looked into how its fits precisely on to dash but will do Monday and let you know.

I'm assuming there is a designated mounting point already there.

IMHO I would go for the OEM (factory fit) type kit, but get the non-rsap version (like the 729E kit), this means no clutter on the dash and fully integrated with the steering wheel/dash cluster and touch screen interface on the RNS or RCD510 

These can be had for around £250 and the install takes about an hour.

I have retrofitted one of these to my Mk6 and it works great with both my Blackberry 8310 and iPhone 3GS (neither of which would work with the factory premium bluetooth).
