Do things happen at worst times!!!!

Coming home from work today,pulled out on dual-carriage way, went to about 4.5k rpm, then lost all power and car turned into a Challenger tank!!! Yep exhaust has gone in some description....
 
Had a quick look underneath, and has dropped at middle section end of cat. Doesn't look as if rotted through though as really smooth!?! Looks more as if it's just fallen out?

Gonna have to wait till Monday though as going to a cottage in dales tomorrow for weekend.Could have been worse though I suppose, could have happened half way up to there!!!

So if anyone has a STD 1.8t cat or middle section or just upgraded to a stainless.....
Wish I could go stainless myself, but Rabb.c.Nesbitt makes me look poor at min

Feel better now I've got it off my chest though, just got 2 hours in wives Corsa sxi to look forward to tomoz now......

it might be the joiner thingy. thats what need replacing on mine, Not sure of the proper name sorry mate, about 30 quid from vw, think its a dealer only part.

don't have the part no sorry, just recalling what the garage said.

Never know might get lucky - probably  not but hopefully.

Nail on the head tg1. The metal sleeve between cat and middle section is shot. Gonna be replaced tomorrow. Happy days...
