Golf radio wiring
«

Just bought a mk2 Gti as a daily driver (to give my Corrado G60 a rest) and the previous owner cut all the wiring loom for the stereo. I know the red wire is live, brown for earth , grey/blue for dash lights. Is the yellow/white one ignition live? or is there ignition live? I think I can track the speaker wires to their respective colours but any help on the whole wiring colour scheme would be gratefully recieved.

I had the same problem on mine, you can take any ignition source, But best to buy yourself a cheap voltmeter for about a tenner and use it check all the wires. They are an invaluable piece of kit, I use mine all the time.

Maplin are doing two, yes two! Multimeters (volts, amps and ohms) for ?5.
That's right, ?5 multimeter, buy one get one free!
That was in the shop, the web site is doing them for ?2.99 each, look for 'Domestic Multimeter'.

Nothing to do with them, just passing on some info which might save you some money.

Looks like a good deal to me.
The way you have worded your post does sound like a sales pitch.
