us spec bootlid

im wondering where i could get a us spec boot from without going to the us? (because of import tax)

get a euro spec lid from france, etc. sure they have a similar plate recess....

depends how you do it. you can avoid import tax from anywhere if its labeled as a gift under a certain amount. Although im not too sure on importing stuff in and taxes and stuff.

have a look on foreign ebay's for them and see the prices first.

you might find some over here that have been made. i.e. standard uk bootlid cut and welded to look like a US spec one.

Yes but the chances of finding one in the uk is remote unless you get lucky on edition38.

ebay.de always have loads of imported us stuff (or ask on vw vortex..they like our euro stuff so a swap maybe posible)

(oh and euro spec are identical to ours!)

aswell as owning an 8v i also work for ups, you only really pay import vat if it comes from out of the EU. Some people do try and say its a gift, but it doesnt always work.

You will get stung if it comes from the states

Hmm don't i just know it, ive being caught by the US export charges twice now which made my transactions more expensive than buying the items here and theoretically pointless!

not tailgate related, but how much import tax/duty do u think id get stung for if i ordered something of the value of 30 quid, weight wise about 5kg if that
