Common fault? Gear change

Hey guys I have a Mk 5 golf fsi sport sometimes when I put it in 1st gear it spits it back out is this a common fault on the fsi models? Only ask as my dad has a fsi and his has started doing it aswell

I've been on the GTi forums for three years and can't recall ever seeing this mentioned

might just be our one's then :(

mine is a Fsi-S and my dads is a Fsi-SE and every now and again gear one spits out :(

Sounds like a gearbox problem rather than a FSI engined related problem. The GTIs have a different 6 speed box to the S and SE models.
