I moved on but now I want to come back.....
« on: 23 February 2010, 21:59 »
Hi all some of you may remember me, a few months back I owned the Golf GTi loved it but not massively. Unfortunatly was invoved in an accident and it got wrote off  bit gutted as it was a project I was looking forward to seeing threw. After smashing the GTi up I thought I would move on to a car that I thought I would be confortable with as standard save money on modding, so I baught a BMW E36 Coupe. How ever the modding.... well what can I say lol guess its in my blood lol I couldn't help my self. Lowered it 40mm rear 60mm front, clear m3 front and side indicators about to get m3 rears, also gave it alot of TLC, engine clean up, interia tarted up etc.
Any how I still have a majour soft spot for the Golfs lol every time I see one it makes me think of selling up and getting a mk3 again. I know most of you will say get a mk2 but I love mk3s and always have. never grew to atatch to the one i had before as it wasn't one I chose so was never happy on the colour and always wanted a three door.
Ok straight to the point what would you guy's do stick with the BMW a car i know runs like a dream and is almost a finished project or sell up for a mk3 again? Not after the obvious answers from a Golf forum lol GET A GOLF! lol just the actual answer to what you would onestly do in my shoes. Cheers guy's sorry for long read, pics below for a reminder of my old GTI and my current E36 with list of mods done so far.

The Golf GTi

The E36 Coupe

when i first got it...

As it stands today...

60mm drop clear front and side lights, boot release kit fitted and boot D-locked. There is more but thats just the recent mods that can been seen in pics.

Yep, I've had 5 Mk3 Golfs, and I'm now bored of them. I fancy moving onto something different. I won't get all my money back if I sell it, so best idea was to sell the mods seperately, then I'd have enough money for the car I do want. If I could do a straight swap for a car I wanted then I wouldn't mind so much about the money I'd lost, cus I'd still be happy :)

What sort of car was you originally looking for then Joe, a BM? was looking at your prog thread and noticed you had done your roof lining and pillars black. just about to do the same to the BM today, black swade.

Im in to minds at the moment, duno weather to just stick it out with my E36 Coupe as its a good car dont have a problem rong with it apart from its due an oil change but im getting that done this weekend. And then in june july look at getting a E46 as you can pic them up for around £3500 now. Or get a mk3 again for the fun factor for the next 12months or so.

I would keep the BMW.

Cheers wyne, thats prob the sensible option. Duno if im just going threw a board of my car stage again lOl. But Joe has thrown a spanner in the works asking for a swap lol so tempting. think my inshurance would go sky high on a VR6 tho :( the BMW and GTi were the same.
