Anyone else found this fault with a mk6?

I have a loan Golf at the mo until my car arrives.
Has anyone else had a problem with the A/C turning itself on?
If I adjust the heat director knob quickly around the windscreen logo the aircon comes on without touching the button.
Very strange, might not be an error as I didnt get a manual with the car.

Think it always comes on when moved to the windscreen settings to assist with condensation etc

this situation is only occasional. I can only make it repeat perhaps 4/10 attempts.
I dont really care, just interested...

If you have the fan on and then select where you want the air to be directed, it automatically switches the aircon on when you select it to blow at the windscreen. It reckons you are trying to demist the windscreen so the aircon comes on to help out.

I couldn't understand why mine was coming on all the time until I read about it online somewhere.

its got to be said, if you've got a question about a mk6, this is the place to get it answered.
dropped a key down the side of the passenger seat earlier, tihs bugs me so badly I've decided to put some of that smart looking foam pad material into the cavity each side......not sure why I just wrote that, but there it is..

Those things are like a bottomless pit for my coins. And yeah if you hit the button with max on it I think the whole dam lot pops on. Full fans ac etc....
