Helix Clutch - ed30
« on: 13 February 2010, 15:25 »
After 2 and a half months of nursing my slipping clutch it was finally replaced yesterday  in favour of a Helix item by the helpful chaps at Rtech power.
The DMF was in good working order so did not need replacing.

Whilst the clutch is slightly stiffer than standard, it is by no difficult to use, testament to this being the hour of clutch/de-clutching on the M42 thanks to the kind people slowing down to gawp at a car accident. If anything it appears to have softened in the 150 miles I’ve covered since.

There are no strange squeaks or rattles in operation, gear changes are now very precise with much quicker pick up than before.

sounds like a good result then as the sachs one is meant to be very hard work for the first few hundred miles. ive forgotten what using the left leg feels like  :undecided:

Hello m8,

Have your tested it with your Revo setting turned back up and and getting traction?  lol
Very nice car you got there, looks and sounds really nice and fast as feck..

Any problems or question you know where we are.

Thanks again for your custom.

Nick

Hi Nick,
Revo settings returned to normal  albeit boost a little higher c/o Streetwise.
I cant really put it into a better context but the car somehow feels slightly more solid with the slightly firmer clutch.
It's a far more engaging drive, in part because the pickup through the gears is much quicker.
I was driving home in 6th and could have sworn i was in 4th such is the pull.

Sounds good m8.
Keep me updated its the first time we used them, we did a lot of research in to them and made and all the comments we got from other tuners came back good. I will find out what warranty come with the unit aswell.
