Stik with the 8 valve mate, They meant 2 be loads better an quicker 2,

It's quicker low down... 16V has to be driven harder to get those extra horses to work!!!
Hence why 16V engines don't last as long...

At low rpm a good 8 valve can MATCH a 16v's torque and the first 4 gears are the same ratio.
as the revs rise from idel 16v makes more and more torque, then you get to 4000 rpm the torque from the 8v is starting to fall and about to face plant the deck, where as at 4000 the 16v comes on cam and just makes MORE TORQUE and pulls hard till it hits the limiter
16V's dont have to be driven hard but if you choose to drive it hard it will reward you with more power

and there defantly arn't any issues with 16v engine life, if anythign they make more miles than most 8 valves
