Wish I read this before getting it done, left the car with them at 8:30 then get a call at 9.45 to say its done. Go there and the fresh paint is really dark more like a escort cossie imperial blue... I say its too dark and he says leave it for 2 weeks and Ill have to do it again. So I leave it at that then at lunchtime look at it properly and it looks a totally different blue. So I ring him up saying how sh!t it looks and I can't wait 2 weeks, he says bring it round after work which I do. He mixes up a new paint slightly lighter, sprays it on and it still too dark and purply.. Then he says I'll try original shade and puts a dupoint test patch on the paintwork elsewhere on the car (Should of done in the first place) and its a spot on match.. Says oh someone must of sprayed the car before in original shade, I say but the paintworks never been touched before Ive gone over it with a fine touth comb.Anyway mixes up original tone and paints it again. With this im gettin a bit pissed off and thinking this is gonna look sh!t, he finishes it and it looks better than the first time but its still too dark and has too much purple in the paint. I left it at that !! The way he explained how he mixes it up makes me think he aint been too accurate with his measures. He never masked properly and got all paint on my air-con condenser behind when the indicator is and the plug. I've since got this all off with thinners.Im well not happy with it but I aint bothering going back to him as he'll just bodge it again and don't want him touching the car no more !I think Im gonna go Volkswagen and get the paint and have a go myself, question is will cellulose thinners remove his crap job so I can start again ?? Also will it bring off my original paint underneath as If I get it back to just the scrape and bit of filler work then I can go over that area and not the whole side of the front bumper and have more of the original paint showing instead of the purple looking crap thats there at the minute !!PS: Anyone got a Fjord Blue front bumper ??
