Looking awesome matey, just read the thread from start to finish and its good to see that you've been working hard to finish it and tidy up all the small details.

I never did get the chance to drive it when Ben owned it  but boy did it go well and sound awesome.

Keep it up!
Steady as she goes

cheers buddy its slowly coming together, mechanically its fine but still needs a bit of refining. It will be SORN'd at the end of the month for a bit, so theres no excuse to get it sorted

stage 1 is dash out... i have a new matrix to fit and a lot of wiring to tidy up. also the coilovers need cleaning up and protecting, the front is going lower

I don't think a semi will give the same results

As I have found mate. Doing that small finite list, will ultimately turn into a infinite list within that short space of getting it off the road. I have no idea which direction I'm going in with mine any more, so much to do to get to the final product!

Good luck with it mate!

cheers luke, MIMs sold yesterday with no hassle, and money will be going towards some new wheels

I worry about it becoming a long-term off-the-road project and sitting in the garage for months/years

And to top it off I 'unfortunately' spent all day gardening so no car updates i'm afraid!

Spent a few hours tidying it up today:

Rear calipers and hubs got a lick of paint:

Before

After

Hammerite got a hammering:

Front coilovers were looking very sorry for themselves so i freed them up a little (they werent really seized, possibly due to the plastic adjuster ring rather than ally/steel). They got wound down a couple inches and greased up

Before

After

After a long afternoon and tightening up the rear wheel bolts (i forgot, silly me)  :lipsrsealed:

Always appreciate nose down stance .

How's it feeling to drive now?

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

Yeh i prefer the look, and im glad the solid engine mount seems to have raised the engine a touch, so the sump isnt on the floor...

As its sorn'd i couldnt officially test drive it  :undecided: BUT it drives very well on 'private ground'! However I'm used to driving a mk3 now  :lipsrsealed: so anything is likely to feel better
