oh and i need the missus to agree to taking some fly-by footage

Easiest way round that is to give her a choice of two:

1. Anal

2. Fly-by Footage

Win win that is

So i've been rather busy with paint and a few other bits and bobs

Firstly i fitted my £10 pipercross cone filter, after a clean and re-oil it was as good as new. The filter is much further away from the block, which should help prevent heat-soak. The pipework needs adjustment as the MAF is too close to the terminal block (as battery is in the boot) and one of the HT leads  :lipsrsealed: but i've bought some more silcone hose/alloy pipe so extend the intake pipework:

I've also set to work with this stuff (just HAD to get it in this colour!), as some of the engine loom and associated wiring looks liable to damage. I made a start on saturday but once finished will take some more photos:

Then i set about painting the door handle inserts as I am fitting new door handles. (BTW do NOT buy cheap ebay handles, they start to loosen up and then fail to actuate the door latch!)

Then i started to prep another front grille for paint, as im bored with the 4 lamp one and most of the clips are broken. My spare one did have a red pinstripe... but now...

The lower grille trim (the body coloured metal strip) has become stone chipped, so once ive re-painted that i shall be fitting the new grille. :afro:

Oh and here are a couple more random photos:

Be interested to see how that green grill stripe looks when fitted.

here we go, new grille fitted but without the VR6 badge. I dont really want to bond it onto the mesh as that would ruin it forever

Was thinking of doing these green too but decided to keep them body coloured for now, the other half already thinks the car looks like a carrot with the green grille and all  They were body coloured before but the paint was flaking off:

I had to remove the old one, as the clips were all broken and it was held on with cable ties

I might green-stripe a standard grille in future
