Recommend me a wax
« on: 07 February 2010, 19:12 »
Im looking for a wax. I have no idea what im looking at, there is so many different ones at different prices.  Ive never used wax before and unsure at what stage to apply it.  As you guys are the pros, before i buy, please point me in the right direction.  Id prefer something affordable.  Its not a show car but I want it to dazzle like a flame in the winter night lmao.

My thinking of the process is
Powerwash the thick off.
I have autoglm shampoo conditioner so ally this.
Powerwash again
then use my Autoglm super resin polish
then would i apply the wax straight over the top.

I love this stuff

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/collinite-no-476s-super-doublecoat-auto-wax/prod_207.html

Put 2 coats of it on over the summer last year and the car still beads now. Perfect IMO if you are lazy and not a hardcore detailer

Quick Q too -  If you wax your car, lets say a month later it needs a wash, will you need to re-wax after the wash?

yep wax is applyed last

collinite 845 for ease of application and good protection,
collinite 915 is a hard wax which takes a bit more effort to apply but is very good on the gloss front and protection.
dodojuice(take your pic as they are all good waxs)
poorboys nattys blue paste wax smells lovely, easy to apply and has good protection.

no not really but it wouldnt do any harm if you wanted to. make sure you use a neutral shampoo for your washing so not to strip the wax.

You could try dodo's Red Mist as a top up for shine & a bit of added protection, its spray on, buff off & looks great. Most waxes should last a few months between applications (and your choice is I hear a good one). Enjoy
Cancelled Order
