Good news everyone!
« on: 07 February 2010, 15:23 »
A buddy of mine recently pointed out that when you type l/100km to mpg into google it uses US units for gallons, so that was why my mpg seemed so low. If you type in miles per UK gallon you get the 'proper' figure. It turns out that my average of 6.1 l/100km on the normal daily drive is actually closer to 46 mpg, rather than 38. I thought mpg in the 30s sounded a bit off
I'm not sure if the trip computer displays mpg or l/100km for you guys in the UK but it might be worth noting anyway.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

I think Jimp is in Ireland, so his will display l/100km and he's been trying to convert that to mpg, but until now his conversion have been to US units, not UK so when he compares it to mpg UK drivers are getting his has looked pretty poor.  And he's warning others in case they make the same mistake.  Thats my take on it anyway ...

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?
