XDS system on mk6 GTI

hiya all.....new to forum!!!!! having owned(and sold due to change of circs) a MK5 GTI.....i was wondering whether the new XDS made getting all the available power down on launch any better than in the MK5?? in the dry, not too much of a problem in the 5...in the wet.....very prone to wheelspin quite early. IM looking to purchase a MK6 later this year and was simply curious if the system made THAT much of a difference......Thanks for any info that you lot can provide

i find the only time it is really noticeable working is when accelerating hard on sweeping bends. Straight line starts it doesnt seem to do much

It's primarily for improving traction during cornering, where one wheel might have better grip than the other, rather than from a standing start. It brakes the wheel with least traction, preventing it from spinning, but will also inhibit (although not eliminate) the onset of understeer.
