ED30 performance
« on: 03 February 2010, 16:55 »
Recently I bought one of these....

www.performancebox.co.uk

Took the car out (private drive!) and came back with these figures for the ED30 REVO stage 2+ DSG

Anyway the conditions today were damp and the performance decent after 30-40mph. Slightly slow 60-100mph as I geared up a little too early into 4th. Metering the accellerator is the toughest part as you either have to use part throttle to get grip or spin it away with nearly full throttle
I know there must be a 10 second run to 100mph in there when I get my R888's back on and the conditions dry out.

A best today of 4.9sec 0-60mph and 10.8sec 0-100mph.
30-70mph works out at 3.7 seconds.
60-100mph works out at 5.3 seconds, but the car has done a 4.7 second one previously.

The ED30 really is a great performing car and will surprise much more expensive machinery - both on track and a side by side run(at the Pod)

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Yeah, I reckon that there is a 4.6 second 0-60 run in there once the weather clears up and my R888's are back on

In the EVO magazine at the back there are performance figures for just about every sports car out there and the figure in bold are ACTUAL figures that EVO made whilst testing with the same Performance Box that I have.. eg..

Merc SLK AMG Black - 0-60 in 4.9 and 0-100 in 11.2.
Aston Martin V8 Vantage - 0-60 in 5.2 and 0-100 in 12.0
BMW M3 CSL - 0-60 in 5.3 and 0-100 in 12.0
Porsche Carrera S (997) 0-60 in 4.6 and 0-100 in 10.9
TVR Cerbera Speed six - 0-60 in 5.0 and 0-100 in 11.4

The 60-100mph run is very interesting as you are talking seriously fast cars for that increment. Again EVO mag actual figures.

Lamborghini Gallardo 60-100 in 5.1 seconds
Porsche GT3 (997) 60-100 in 5.1 seconds
Porsche 911 Turbo (996) 60-100 in 5.9 seconds
Ferrari 612 Scaglietti F1 60-100 in 5.5 seconds
Nissan GT-R 60-100 in 5.1 seconds
