Loss in mpg

I have been getitng 55-65mpg on my 17mile trips for as long as ive had the car, now just recently its dropped to only just getting to 50-55mpg, is there anything i can check for to make sure nothing is on its way out  :undecided:or needs doing.

I have noticed my engine judder is getting worse (think this is engine mounts that need replacing?) upper or lower im not sure, is this expencive to get done?

all tyre pressures have been checked and car has nothing extra in than it used to.

using a pipercross pannel filter.

cars a 1999 tdi 110.

Mate it is like a needle in a haystack, it could be a series of things.
The first that may will tell you as I got told is that the drop in temp you will see less MPG, this wasn;t the case for me.
Could possibly be the MAF on it's way out.

It could be a number of things mate, but first and foremost, find someone that can Vagcom you car for you to scan for any faults, although the MAF doesn;t always come up which is a pain in the rectum.

Keep us posted mate, but really your MPG don;t sound bad at all but I can see your concern as it's a horrible drop.

yeah i know it is  il look into geting a Vagcom reading then.

driving style has stayed the same etc just seems odd the sudden drop.

I will cary on looking for that needle.

put some  Injector Cleaner through, and seems to have helped so far as its back up to 50-54 with no probs.

It only started happening after having a full tank of the city diesel stuff from sainsburys, I usealy use the esso or bp garage. so am thinking mayby a dodgy tank of fuel has caused the drop in mpg.

I will pop some more of the  Injector Cleaner in before i fill up and see how it goes, have noticed a smoother engine though even after the first bit i put in.
