Boot does not open using remote key button
« on: 30 January 2010, 19:51 »
When pushing the boot opening button on my key remote the boot does not open. Is there a fix to this?

you have to hold the button for a second or two - did you try that?

.

Yep tried that, holding it down for up to 10 seconds. The light flashes on the key fob but the boot does not open.

Holding the button down for a few seconds foxed me for a while

You know that it doesn't pop the hatch, only unlocks it so you still have to manually open it?  I would think its a coding issue if it locks / unlocks etc normally with the rest of the doors.

Lol, I thought it popped the boot.

Just went out and tried it, button unlocks boot and then you have to manually open it!

Thanks ub7rm

If the car is locked, and you just want to get into the boot, then you use the boot button on the remote key.
This will unlock only the boot.
You can then open the boot and once you close the boot it automatically locks everything back up without having to press anything on the key again.
Its just a convenience thing I guess.

when I picked up my car, the dealer warned me not to use that button as so many people had previously opened the boot put their keys inside and locked themselves out. better to just double tap the main unlock button and open all doors/boot in my opinion.
