« on: 27 January 2010, 22:05 »
hello, i went to look at a 1988 1.8 8v gti 2night, only thing is she has a problem with the immobilizer.

my question is, was an immobilizer standard on this car?

because if it wasnt that means i could bypass the kit again yeah?

anyone that can help please do thank you

Will be aftermarket, as long as you can find the control box easy enough to bypass or remove.

I thought immobiliser was a factory option? Is it a little touch key that goes in the steering column?
