lumpy idle
« on: 27 January 2010, 18:45 »
ive changed the leads, plugs, coil, oil, air filter, new antifreeze and thermostat, new starter and alternator(i know nothing to do with what im askin, but said it anyway)but the car still idles lumpy when warmed up.Am i missing something that i could change on top of what ive already done???its an 8v,other than putting a match to it,which i could easy do,as im sick to my back teeth on spending on this car, bought for £1500,and ive spent that again on what needed doin...all mechanical.pi**in traiders should be shot.

clean throttle body and swap the temp sensor.... both are what I would do as part of a service (due to the reliability of both!)

I use carb cleaner and the wife's tooth brush.... It's easier if you remove it and clean both sides till they shine but can be done fitted (just not as good)

I had no carb cleaner to hand so used WD40 and an old toothbrush. Give it a good scrub and clean out thoroughly after. Will run like new and cost nothing for the privilege.  Good Luck      Deano
