Weird electric window problem (goes up when I press down!)

My 2006 Mk5 GTI has been into the bodyshop for a replacement rear bumper recently. Since then, the rear drivers side electric window has developed a weird fault: when I pull the button upwards, the window goes down and when I push it down, the window goes up! This is the the complete opposite to the other three windows! The same happens whether I use the button on the rear door or the one on the drivers door.

At the same time, the drivers seatbelt warning has stopped working - passengers warning is still ok.

Is it likely that these faults have been caused by the bodyshop? I did notice when collecting the car, that the battery had either been disconnected or flattened and charged because I had to reset the automatic up/down on the front windows.

Any clues before I either go back to the bodyshop or to the dealers?

Check the fuses carefully, I had a similar problem when I took the wrong fuse out of my fiancee's polo and the drivers side switch started working the passenger side window and vice versa.  Very weird, it wasn't the fuse for the windows I took out but it did affect the central convienience module somehow and messed things up.  All OK when I put the fuse back in ...

My guess would be you will find a blown fuse for something else and it will cure your problems...

Thanks for the advice. I've just checked all of the fuses in the dashboard panel and they are all ok and the problem is still there :-(

Is it likely that the CCM coding can get screwed up by a battery being discharged or disconnected? I don't want to go chasing the bodyshop for something that they can't have done!
