The new diesel kicks out 2010 bhp. Not quite as quick from 0-60 as the GTI, but kills it on fuel consumption.

WOW - that must be some engine!!!

Sorry - I couldn't resist!

And, yes, a brand new 2.0 litre diesel is on its way for the GTD. My guess is a launch around September /October this year. It'll have the new 7-speed PQ500 gearbox, which will also go into R and GTI models. The new diesel kicks out 200 bhp. Not quite as quick from 0-60 as the GTI, but kills it on fuel consumption.
You forgot the best bit twin turbo  for quicker throttle responce.

VW should stop flogging the dead horse of adding even more weight to the nose. That 5 pot lump from the TT/US Jetta can't be light.
At least they've binned the V6...
It would make sense to do a R/S3 upgrade to turn the 2.0 into a twincharged variant, as they have the 1.4.

2.0 supercharged and turbocharged, FSI for low emissions, no lag and 350BHP  - that would be nice!

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.
