Tyre issue?
« on: 25 January 2010, 17:20 »
Parents are away at the moment and I took their car to work today to sort out the rear brakes.

The steering wheel was shaking from side to side very slightly all the way there, the car was juddering a bit.

I didn't have time to check suspension ect. at work and my trainer mechanic wasn't in.

Now the car was fine a few days ago and the only journey it's been on was my sister taking it a mile if that but over roads with raised iron works. Two of the tyres look mishapen, once got a slow puncture and both are a bit cracked.

Does this sound like all it will be, or should I take it back to work tomorrow and check all the suspension etc?

Cheers.

They look a little to me, but as I said I didn't look deep into the issue. Felt no bumps in them.

It dont have to a bump, its only got to be slightly out of shape, allignment, balance etc for it to make a vibration.

And pot holes and road works certainly do that.

Plus being cracked with a slow puncture probably isnt helping!

Nope. I'll just take the wheels in, they need tyres anyway.

Trusting my eyes anyway.
