keeping bbs alloys clean.....

I painstakingly cleaned my Std mk2 BBS alloys the other day, only for them to be now covered in brake dust and crap again after a couple of hundred miles. With all the spokes they are a pain in the ass to clean, but they look so good clean and pretty naff dirty!

Anyone got any tips on first of all cleaning them, and then keeping them clean? any specific products out there?

I also cleaned mine at the weekend and yes they are a pain. The best product I have found is autoglym wheel cleaner, it comes in a handy pump spray bottle. I spray it on and then work it into the corners with a paintbrush then simply rinse it away! Definately the easiest method IMO

use diluted parafin. then give it a jet blast. will be blingin in no time

on my bbs splits i bought a crappy electric toothbrush thinking that would make things easier. didn't really work, your best bet is to just use some decent wheel cleaner and your finger then jet wash. just one of the downside to owning decent wheels!

The best method to clean them is to use an acid based patio cleaner which you will get from Focus, B&Q etc. To my mind it is exactly as good as wonderwheels and you get a big container for about a fiver.

I brush it on with a cheap paint bush and rinse it off. I still haven't come up wit a way to keep them clean but I am seriously considering wheel clean discs.

Never use chemicals to clean your wheels! you run the risk of burning off the vital clear coat that protects the metal from the eliments!!!! Some good old embow greace and some Fairly liquid always does the trick!

Is'nt there some wheel seal products on the market like Auto Glym Alloy Wheel Seal which is supposed to prevent the build up of brake dust and also make them easier to clean....??

I also have BBS RA's and they take as long to clean as the rest of the motor....

Turtle wax do a product called Brake dust barrier.
I had the same problem with my bbs alloys
Now i have 15" G60 steels enamelled Gloss Black
Problem Solved !!!

Keep the wheel cleaner of them alloys it f#@ks the laker on the wheel i use a lot of elbow grase and a corse sponge and hot water with car shampoo.
All these wheel cleaners i have used ruined a new set of wheels so since then its been hard work, It will give you back ache but its worth it when the bbs wheels are nice and shiny!!
