Wouldn't bother, I don't agree they do anything at all anyway, unless positioned at the very front of the car under the bumper, which is useless for road driving.
Manufacturers spent thousands of pounds developing that airbox for your specific car, those universal jobbies ruin that.
u have a point, but they developed the air box with, economy, noise reduction, mass production and cheap production in mind, performance was probably the last thing on vws mind when making this paticular engine
and i am aware that im probably contradicting everything i said before about keeping the standard air box, but i do feel i should stick up for cone filters as long as they are applied correctly, which is pretty much what guesswho just said, so im gonna shut up up now and return to the mk2 board before i get run over by a fat mk3
