D S G  RECALL
 Hi I have just recieved a letter from VW about a recall on the D S G cars anyone know anything about the problem !!!!

There has been a recall in the US for DSG cars made around 2008 for a sensor replacement that caused the car to jump out of gear on its own.

That's the only one I'm aware of.

I know some have problems with the mechatronics(sp no idea how its spelt lol) unit, a faulty one cause the car to have jerky pull aways etc.

Yes indeed , mines does this every now & again? I have  pulled out of a Jct and nothing happens, then it suddenly jumps into gear!! very scarey :shocked:!! My car hasnt done it for a couple months now? Thanks God. Mines a 58 plateED30.

At the time i thought this guy was going to crash into me when pulling out of the JCT  :sick:

RECALL  LETTER  states

THE GEARBOX CONTROL UNIT MAY READ THE CLUTCH TEMPERATURE INCORRECTLY .

THIS ACTIVATES THE GEARBOX PROTECTION FUNCTION WHICH RESULTS IN THE VEHICLE JUDDERING
 THE GEARBOX DISPLAY FLASHING , AND DRIVE MAY BE LOST .

My car is a dec 2008 gti dsg

thanks for the info,

i have had issues with my dsg box - but its seems this recall only effects a limited time frame of cars, which unfortunately does not include mine :sad:

Build Start Date : 9/1/2008
Build End Date :  8/31/2009

They've taken their time sending out the recalls, I made a reference to the recall in Novemeber  :angry:
