Hi does anyone  Have a photo of a 2.0L 16V GTI Engine showing whats, what, throttle body, MAF thingy etc

Cheers but looks completly different, DOHC stamped on the manifold etc.

that photo in link is the 8v engine not 16v

That's the one Pal. having idiling problems so was going to clean the throttle body and MAF as mentioned in a few  of the threads, also check the oil pipes etc  , just bought the haynes manual doesnt really tell me what i want to know

Hope that helps.....

Throttle body is just where the black plastic inlet pipe meets the manifold, there is no maf on a 16v engine, just a map sensor which is located in the ecu and works via that blue vac pipe that runs from the top of the manifold to the ecu.

That black square box at the bottom of the pic is the pcv valve which is part of the engine breather system....hope that helps. :smiley:

Looking the picture, the small bore blue pipe on the back of the manifold, i've (the garage) had to disconnet it to get the car to run, if i reconnect the car stalls, any ideas?????

That blue pipe that runs from the back of the manifold is for the map sensor in the ecu, if disconnected or damaged it should/would cause running issues/ stalling, the map sensor calculates the amount of air drawn into the engine at any given time which allows the ecu to dump in the correct amount of fuel.

the blue pipe in the picture is the vacuum pipe for the ECU map sensor

if this is disconnected then engine will run rough
