I did mine myself and it still cost 3k but was a far better job than TSR did on my mates for twice the price.

To get the qpeng loom done is a estimate 1k and the engine and rest of the parts I would look for a crash car sou got all the parts u need and sell the left overs and parts u don't need for the conv to recoup some of ur money back ...

They charged him 3k to do it but he had almost all the parts and the engine was in complete with box. Sent it out with a broken diverter valve. Did not wire up the coolant temp, rev counter and oil pressure sensors to the clocks. Spent ages sorting out the loom as it was left to hang loose over the turbo.

it can be done for around that as far as im aware but u need a leccy mate who can splice a loom up for you rather than go qpeng etc route. as i understand its a lot of grief though!
thought about selling yours and simply buying a converted one? there are a few ive seen going under 3K which look tiy!

I have placed mine on the classified section but my preference would be to keep it and have the conversion done.

if 3-4k is too much - dont do it! a lot of parts will need uprating, brakes, etc. and you will want to replace parts with new parts like bushes, ball joints, etc while the car is apart and it all adds up. trust, been there myself!

ps. cant believe tsr would do such a bad job!

:)
