^^^ £3360 over 4 years and 60K! At least you're protected against inflation, I guess.

That is a lot of money, I know
But these days everything is getting expensive. Xenon lamps would be a couple of hundred quid.
The 60000 miles is what makes it so pricey. 4 years, 14000 miles each year (56000 miles) would have been a lot less - £50 or 55 per month. I'm not sure what happens then but must be big.
The most important were for me the tyres. VW guy said - 225/40/18 are designed for grip not longevity so if it's fair tear and wear they will replace it.
Golf GTI VI DSG - died on the road, resurrected, came back as zombi, sold
R - rising blue, 5-door, DSG, ACC, something something...

I guess tyre 'consumption' depends on how you drive . I've got the same 225/40 tyres and they last 20,000 miles up front, 30K or more out back - on a heavy Passat.

I got 21k miles out of the 19s on the front of my Boxster, and 17k out of the rears - no motorway miles and i don't hang around in it.

I would get only about 12-14k miles out of the fronts on Altea diesel 2.0 TDI from brand new Bridgestones to 0 mm. Maybe it's the GTI or maybe I drive in a different way but it seems I may stay with current tyres a little bit longer this time.

I wonder what the ware rate of the bridgstones are as our leon TDI use to do ~22K to a set of fronts when it ran the conti's. So either your very hard on tyres or its a very soft tyre.

look at the treadwear rating on the sidewall - i think its about 140 for the RE050s , in which case they are as soft as sushi

I'd be interested to know what they told you about replacements due to punctures, and whether you could choose your own brand of tyre at replacement.

I don't remember the conditions about the punctures - will check later today. Tyres are handed by National Tyres. They replace with only "top 6 brands", Contis were mentioned. How that works in practice, we'll see...

Noticed in the paper this morning that BMW do a 5yr service plan for 250 quid.  Rip off VW or bargain BMW?

And let's not mention the 7 yr warranties from other manufacturers.

Mk6 Golf GTI 5dr, DBP, Monza Shadow, Xenons, ACC, RCD510, Park Assist, Camera, Lux pack.... and now bluetooth.... and now DSG!
