hi
dont know about chopping it off !!! but I  rerouted my wing aerial after some scally snapped it off. Extended what was left and installed it under the windscreen scuttle. filled wing hole with a grommet.you wont need to do that of course. aerial works fine and reception is as good as ever. might be worth a try

Yes, but you need to remove the head unit and unplug it there and then sort the new one as required.

I have one of these aerial window mounted jobbies, but I hate it lol! It works and it doesn't. Must be my area but my reception is poor, everything is connected correctly etc but listening to the radio is a ballache. It defo works, but when I've got my iPod plugged in, that decreases signal, and again when turned up load it loses signal.

Might just sell it seeing as I'm getting rid of the car in August...robz....?

P.S. Just checked the link, mine is nothing like that. haha!
