Are our gearknobs different?

Well, need to buy a new one, old one is rough round the top bit and just had a look on the bay though and seen this

(We have fitted these to most of the vw range, golf mk1 2 3 (will not fit mk4) mk5, new beetle, old beetle, T2, T3, T4 Van, Seat Leon Audi etc).

So i take it we have different size shaft or something? Wouldn't mind something like this but dont want to pay anywhere near this price, can anyone find anything similar for less money?

Patch we've got no hope of finding anything decent in the pikey scrapyards we have over here

Haha, not even worth bothering with, most people destroy everything left worth anything before they scrap it anyway 

We lucky to get a VW in there, let alone a GTI
