06 1.9 tdi 105bhp cambelt change?
« on: 16 January 2010, 18:58 »
Hi, please could someone let me know the service intervals for a 06 reg 1.9tdi 105bhp golf and if possible when ideally the cambelt should be changed along with the water pump? Car is currently on 58,000 miles and going tomorrow to look at it.

Thanks in advance....Rob

We had a '55' plate Audi A3 1.9 105hp and the cambelt/water pump service was completed at 60k miles.

IIRC, servicing was variable.. usually ours lasted about 16-18k between services, but it was a motorway pounder.

VW claim loads of different cambelt intervals on the 1.9TDI unit but at 60K miles i'd definately be getting it done if it hasn't been already.

Also get the water pump done at the same time. It should only cost you the price of the pump, hardly any additional labour.

Ring around for prices but I would guess somewhere between £250 and £350 for the whole job.

Mines overdue.  Its a 1.9 tdi 100bhp 03 reg MK4.  Never been changed 88k.  It should have been done at 60k.  If you look at the box that the cam belt is in.  There should be a sticker.  On this you will see a code,  usually 3 letters then some numbers.  You can use this to look up prices and the est time to change.

I got a price of £260 for the full kit inc water pump and laybour.  :)
