Thats the way I am, it just all comes flooding out when I see stupid questions asking whats better a GTD or a GTI, I mean come on ffs, it's almost as stupid as the GTD is faster than the GTI one. If you seriously dont know whats the best between a GTD and a GTI then I feel for you. You seriously want an answer to your question then GTI ffs.

I wonder whats best, I had better ask the strangers in the gti forum.

My advice ? buy a f**kin Corsa if you dont know.

It's fine. It's not noticably quiet or loud. It just trundles along nicely. There may be a slight increase in noise due to the 19 inch tyres but it is not a factor at all. I have the Dynaudio pumping most of the time anyway.

I am just a manual, I considered DSG but didn't go for it in the end.

There is actually quite a nice note while under acceleration and my mates were very impressed. They thought it sounded quite like a petrol while inside the car.

And a taxi when it was stationary ?

Whats the Point of a public Forum Kev?

Not everyone is a brighter spark as you are obviuosly.

Perhaps maybe sit on your hands without upsetting the innocent.

If you do low mileage = GTi ,  high mileage or motorway trowling= GTD

Expensive mistake if you buy a GTD and wish'd you hadnt of picked the other as you will be hit big style in the pocket for trade in.

Both Great cars. Tough decision imo

I think the OP asked for advice on a GTI forum in the belief there'd be posters with both GTi's and GTD's; people who have owned them for 6 months or so,and are in a good position to offer an informed opinion. That's not an unrealistic assumption, nor request imo.

Why be so unpleasant to him?

The thing is the word best is subjective. It depends on your location, how and were the car will be used and your own personal priorities.

Hi kev , just to put at ease ,I am going to waite for the GTI my decsion was made this morning after testing the car again, and also haveing ED30 back from repairs. I just cant see myself driving diesel car esp after going for a blast in the ed30 then trying GTD!! But I will say the GTD is a fantastic car 10 times better than the mk5 tdi . So build week 9 it is ???? Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed on this thread it help me a great deal cheers guys Steve30 :cool:

Kev if you do bad things mate or diss people , it always comes back to bite you in your arse!! (KARMA) I love my GTI that's why i am on my 5th mk5 motor!! Sometimes peoeple have dilema's & decsions to make which can be difficult! That doesnt make people stupid!! Enjoy your world of VW KEV :nerd:
