I'm gonna go get some new plugs then, see if that helps, if not then I'll leave it for now and sort it next week. Stupid tugboat.

on a serious tip, can you not join the AA now shady mate, as previously said you donty want to waste money on things it might not be, at least the aa will pin point to you whats wrong with it

Shady check to make sure one of your spark plugs isnt loose,i know this sounds obsurd BUT this happened to my mk3 a while ago and as i wiggled the Ht leads no2 plug was pretty much totally undone!
