V6 4motion help, annoying problem, any1 please???

Hi, i have a 2001 v6 4mo with an annoying prob, ist of all is the engine emissions light keeps coming on, my mate keeps recetting it with his little computer and it comes up with problems with bank 1 and 2, he said to me its to obviously do with the emissions, second thing is the car sometimes from cold will run really bad, put your foor down it holds back and sounds like a misfire, but then most of the times it runs smooth and goes like hell, would the problems be related??? also what do yoi guys think the prob could be?? sunim simple i hope???? any info will be much appreicated, regards craig.

There are various failed sensors and mechanical issues that might cause these problems. Can you get the exact fault codes from your mate?
