Wheel Spacers for my Anni
« on: 14 January 2010, 14:04 »
I managed to track down some refurbished bbs rx2's for my anni but they are not the 8.5inch ones cus they are off the mk4, hence they look wrong and don't fill the arch.

Obviously i've lost an inch but what size spacers would you recommend to push them out maybe further than before without problems? i was thinking 20mm? ive heard they might wobble if not fitted right? they are £100+ from venom but some cheapies on flea bay, does it matter? the car is lowered but is there a chance they will catch the arch if they are too wide?

They weren't supposed to be 8.5" wide, they were only 7" wide

Do you know the offset of your wheels?

The MKIV ones have the wrong offset and when you fit fresh pads the calipers catch on the inside of the wheels.

Running 20mm spacers means you will get arch clearance problems also don't bother with the cheap spacers they are cheap for a reason and can give you loads of problems.

I believe genuine Anni rims were 7" and mk4's are 6.5, as Nick said they can catch the front brake calipers.

all he needs is a 5mm spacer to clear the calipers or file down the caliper a tad

and won't fit over the hub cover of the rear wheels.. mk3 ones can catch on the inside of the wheels too with non-standard discs and pads!

Sorry guys yours right the anni ones are 7 and the mk4 ones are 6.5, the wheels are on and ok but the caliper is very close to the wheel, so i'll keep that in mind when i get the pads changed.

The wheels look mint and i don't want to change them so it stays original,  as there can't be many anni's left. but the fat arse mk3 suits a wider track and thats the look i was after. i suppose i'll just have the live with it. or stick some wider wheels on  Cheers though guys.

if running 15mm spacers with 215 tyres you may find it rubs on the plastic arch a bit (especially if lowered) but a simple trim will sort that easily
