took me 20 minutes but only becase I had trouble jacking the gearbox arm up, kept slipping off the jack.

I also used the jack.....thought I was the only cheat  lol   Still at least I found a use for the standard Mark 3 jack as it won't jack the bloody car up !!!!!!!!!

I have to take mine off again this weekend as my footwell has been leaking in recently.....cleaned out the gutters last week and thought I had cured it but it's back. I think it might be the rubber bung around the clutch cable as I had a bit of trouble re fitting this. Anything else it could be though??

either the rubber bung on the clutch cable or on the accelerator cable. Put some vaseline around the bungs.

the trick to the self adjusting cable is you compress it using the white clip thats flopping loose on the cable, you shouldnt need to jack it up the clutch arm.

though if the clip above is missing you would have to jack up the arm or chop the cable.  compressing the cable like this resets it so in theory it should work again with a new clutch, but they often just break so never work right, new one is required in that case. I would always put  a new cable on as a matter of course anyway

I will say...tie some thick string around the cable (where it clips to the pedal) when removing and pull the cable through to the engine bay...and reverse this when refitting the new cable as it makes life so much easier threading the cable through the bulk head (which can take time/good aim!)
