Cheers guys (I think!).  I took it with a pinch of salt to be honest, and am quite happy to wait.  It will be interesting to see - dealer advised that they will notify me 4 weeks before delivery.  Some folks on here seem to know their build week - how do you find that out?

I'll post when I do eventually get it

Stu why don't you confront him with it......you have on this forum enough valid info even from dealers!!....I would make quite a big fuzz out of it...leaving the garage with loads of extra's on the dreamcar I would get my legal assistance insurance help me....that vehicle is simply too beautifull to let the waiting spoil all
the fun

Hi Stu

My GTI was ordered back in mid-August and isn't meant to be built until mid Feb. If VW manage to catch up on the back log and manage to meet the estimated deadline they've given you, they must be super human or robots

There are many cancelled orders out there from when people got sick of been messed about. You have probably been given one of those.
Two ways of finding out your provisional build week are:
1) Ask the dealer to look on the DIALOG system and see whats is listed or to send you a screenshot of that info for confirmation they are telling you the truth.
2) Ask the dealer for your commision number this is the number used to find your order on the DIALOG system. So what you can do is then phone VW customer care and give them your commision number and they will let you know the status of your order. Due to the amout of calls to VW customer service of people doing this some of the operators are a bit snooty because they think you should be asking your dealer for this information and not bothering them. But if you have an unhelpful dealer or one that lies then how else are you suppose to find the truth!

I ordered one just before Xmas, with delivery stated as march/April - big dealer with a big allocation, so hopefully will come true.

Spoke with a dealer in Bristol, around the same time, and they had an available build slot meaning possible delivery in March.

Its arrived!!: Candy White GTI , cloth interior, winter pack, luxury pack, park assist, RCD510 ...
