Golf R or Scirocco R......hmmmmm.

Golf, FTW! :afro:
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Mate I really like how you've made such a brand new car into your own with the mods you've done. It was a pleasure to drive it (even though the car didn't actually move anywhere at 100+ mph )

A little info about the graph for you:

It's colour-coded so you can easily recognise which order the runs are in. Blue = first run, orange = second run and red = third run. Think of it like a temperature scale. (the lines on the graph aren't too clear on the scan)

The numbers at the top as you can see are max power and torque against the rpm they were reached at. The numbers in the brackets are the calculated flywheel bhp (the ones manufacturers quote) and the others are the measured wheel horsepower.

By the 3rd run it seemed heatsoak had set in as the power tailed off quite rapidly. Ambient air temps were quite low and there are 3 fans pointed at the car - one large prop fan and 2 smaller but very powerful fans that are normally used for inflating huge bouncy castles  So maybe heatsoak..maybe the car/map has an issue.. maybe i messed up trying to avoid the kickdown on the DSG (you'd think i would have the technique down by the 3rd run though  )
Thanks for the info Toph and glad you liked the blast in the motor
the car was flying on the way home what did you do to it, apart from blast a few cobwebs out

This is a Golf forum. Are we a trifle biased...?

I'd go for Golf R five door, or Scirocco R three door...

Hurdy, I think I might be one of the few that has owned a Scirocco and a GTI. I would say that the GTI is a much more sorted car, Scirocco was terrible with understeer/torquesteer etc. I guess have a test drive and decide for yourself but I would have the Golf everytime (although the Scirocco looks awesome and more unique).
