New gti owner seeking advice
« on: 11 January 2010, 01:18 »
Hi all , just picked up a Y reg silver golf gti turbo, 3 door with the bbs montreal alloys (think they are bbs) and all i can say is wow!!! i had a corsa 1.2 sxi then moved to a 1.8 focus and needed a change so i scouted around for a gti turbo , test drove a few and they blew me away how quick they where in 2nd and 3rd gear and after i drove this one i has to get it, it was so solid in every way.no dints or scratches, no marks on the alloys and it has 80k on the clock with full vw service history and the cambelt and water pump was done at 65k which seems ok. it is the AUM engine code i belve and i paid 2800 for it. is that a good price??? or is it under or over priced??

anyway down to the nitty gritty, im looking to modify it... remap , panel filter and forge recirculating valve seems to be the best start from what ive read on here but what else would you do if it was your car and you had 800 quid to spend on it for performance? im going to lower it with springs n shocks 35mm so it will look and handle ok. so im just looking for 800 quids worth off performance mods?? any feedback would be great. will get a pic up soon!

4. eibach 35mm springs with bilstein b4s shocks
5. s3 sturt brace top and bottom
